WHY ATTEND A HOME STAGING CONFERENCE?

WHY ATTEND A HOME STAGING CONFERENCE?

Many of you are probably wondering “WHY would I want t attend a conference – I mean what am I going to learn that I don’t already know? I am successful, I have a good run rate and activity in my business, so these conferences are not really anything I need to attend, Right?”

KNOWLEDGE is POWER. Have you ever heard that saying? Do you believe ALL the info on our industry has already been learned? Do you have any struggles with your business or want to expand into other areas?

www.iahspconexpo.com

From one of our members who wrote to me earlier:

Jennie i have a very established staging company with an 8000sf warehouse, box trucks vendor relationships, team etc. I don’t currently belong to any staging organizations and have never had any specific training. I believe there is value in collaboration with other successful stagers but wonder what do you believe is the biggest value in attending the Nashville conference?

Her answer=
Where do I start? 😁 We have topics that are helpful for any biz owner and sometimes we get so focused on our daily grind we forget about feeding ourselves with things that keep us motivated and inspired. I love attending and seeing colleagues – it opens up my eyes and mind when I meet others and can have discussions.

Every stager has challenge areas and struggles and I sometimes feel that we don’t share those as readily as on the outside looking in it appears that, “wow this stager has it all dialed in!” And we feel we need to keep that impression but secretly we are struggling just like others whether it is how to manage growth or deal with clients or logistics…. some days I feel like I am barely hanging on and other days I feel like, “man! I got this! Life is good and everything is happening the way it needs to be!”

There are newer stagers who struggle with getting clients so they want to learn about marketing and/or pricing. There are stagers who want to advance their biz and learn how to get to that next level and that means biz planning and adding team members or other service and there are established stagers who also news to know what to do to manage their growth and biz processes… there are topics for all levels. It is about learning – sometimes a different perspective or something that validates what you are already doing…

We provide added credentials to help stagers position themselves to develop a market niche which is important for continued growth. In the room will be stagers with 20 and 30,000 sq ft warehouses and some just starting out. The vendor EXPO piece is so valuable- saving 40-60% off retail for furnishings is huge…

The 6+ figure workshop allows us to delve deeper into the areas of challenge an established stager deals with and is very beneficial.

So it all depends on what you need for your biz… if systems and organization or biz structure…. or creative topics…. or marketing and branding (that is a biggie for any biz owner)… u will learn all of that.

Plus it is Fun! It is one time a year we get to combine learning with a celebration of our industry and get away to learn, connect and enjoy our colleagues and refresh our WHY.

GREAT ANSWER! I am proud to be profitable but know there is always room to learn, grow and share!

I appreciated this person reaching out and I provided an honest answer. I have been in this 17 years and I do NOT claim to know everything about running a business. I do know a lot about Staging, marketing, and success – and each time I attend an event where I can hear from another person who may be proficient at something I need, I am open to learning and applying the info in my business.

Best of Home Staging WINNERS Announced!

The 2019 BEST OF HOME STAGING RECIPIENTS have been ANNOUNCED and winners have been sent their 2019 Best of Home Staging logos to share on their sites, social media and marketing literature.

The Best of Home Staging is an annual recognition of Home Staging Industry Professionals in three categories:

  • Staging Excellence
  • Client Care Excellence
  • Industry Leadership

In each category, industry pros were nominated by colleagues, notified of that nomination, and sent logos indicating their potential recognition. Final award recipients were notified this week and we are excited to share the number of recipients from this is year double the number from last year and include recipients from 12 different countries.

The BEST of HOME STAGING Awards are issued by the International Association of Home Staging Professionals®, (IAHSP®) the largest and longest-running Home Staging Industry Association. There were no limitations on who was nominated and recipients are without bias. The awards are not limited to one association, country, or training organization are were open to anyone in the industry who was deserving.

For more information on IAHSP®, please go to www.iahsp.com

Industry colleagues nominating their fellow professional Home Stagers is really wonderful and what was shared about each nominee has been so great to see. It tells me that our work is being noticed, and our industry colleagues are appreciative of each other. In a world where there is a lot of negativity and lack of support for people who “compete” with each other, this is refreshing and part of what we hoped would happen with these industry recognition awards.

BEST of HOME STAGING NOMINEES

The 2019 BEST OF HOME STAGING Nominees have received notification of their recognition as the best in the Home Staging Industry in three possible categories: Staging Excellence, Client Care Excellence and Industry Leadership.

What does this recognition mean and who receives it?

IAHSP (www.iahsp.com) is the world’s LARGEST and LONGEST RUNNING Home Staging Industry Association with thousands of members in over 20 different countries! Since 1999, IAHSP has set standards for Education, Excellence and Ethics for the Home Staging industry around the world. IAHSP issued the very first industry recognition awards in 2003. Since then, it has been our pleasure to continue the tradition of acknowledging talented and dedicated industry members. We want Home Staging Pros to be recognized by a Home Staging entity – and that is why the Best of Home Staging was created.

The Best of Home Staging is not a ranking. It is not specific to one association or country. It encompasses ALL professionals in the industry, regardless of their affiliation and is without bias. The Best of Home Staging is deserving RECOGNITION for those in the industry who are working to advance the professionalism of Home Staging in their work, with their clients and how they serve their fellow industry colleagues. (www.BestofHomeStaging.com)

– Jennie Norris, IAHSP Chairwoman

Staging Excellence: This recognition is for a professional Home Stager who demonstrates excellent skill in Home Staging with how their properties are Staged. Understanding placement, use of color, and working within limitations such as budget and timeframe, these industry pros show time and time again why they are the go-to Stager for clients in their market. Their talent is reflected in the tasteful way they arrange a room so it best fitst with the goal of selling a house. Whether using their own furniture and decor, a third-party resource, or the homeowner’s furnishings, the end result is a marketable product that attracts the target buyer to help the property sell in the quickest time and at the best price.

Customer Service: This recognition is for a professional Home Stager who demonstrates great care in working with their clients. The testimonials they receive reflect their understanding of Home Staging as a PEOPLE business. We work and interact with people and impact their lives with our talent and time. Even though our goal is to create a visually pleasing property that appeals to buyers, ultimately what we do is SERVE others with our time, talent, and care.

Industry Leadership: This recognition is for those industry members who go above their personal businesses and find a way to serve others and lead the industry to new heights of professionalism. These are industry members who serve in leadership within one of the industry associations, whether at the local, national or international level. They can be Home Staging educators, business coaches, business mentors, marketing professionals. It could also be an individual who is setting the example and pace for others who come after them in their city, state or country. They have proven themselves to be reliable, resourceful, dedicated and give of their time, often without remuneration, with the sole purpose of advancing the success and professionalism of the industry.

In all categories, peers can nominate their colleagues or an industry pro can self-nominate – and the submittals provide wonderful reasons why a particular person belongs in one, two or all three of the recognition categories. We will be sharing the complete list of all recipients with the public and congratulate all those who have received a nomination for the Best of Home Staging 2019.
